1kg mussels
1 glass white wine
2 portions of chips
Heat a glass of white wine in a large saucepan until it is steaming, add the mussels and cook for no more than 5 minutes, turning occasionally.
Serve with chips and salad.
After trying different mussel recipes, I came to the conclusion that they taste a lot better just steamed gently for a few minutes in a glass of white wine.
I have tried mussels cooked with shallots and garlic, and mussels cooked with curry, but the easiest and quickest method was simply steaming in a large pan with white wine.
